This isn’t good for the amount of time you spend on these digital devices, let alone the effects it has on you as a person. The Nothing Phone was created by designers at Computer Arts Academy with the intentions of breaking us out of our routines. They wanted to take something mundane like a boring old phone and force us to go somewhere new every time we use it. The concept revolves around “repeating” the same action over and over again until we realize that there is something new about it now instead of going through the motions each time. Every day, everyone looks at their phones hundreds of times throughout the day — most people glance at them only once or twice while they are making calls or checking messages when they need something urgently. This repetition can make you feel like you are always connected and give you greater access to what’s going on in your world — but too much connection can be bad for you too. How Does Repeating Actions Help Us?
This concept is a perfect way to start changing our relationship with our phones. The less often you use it, the more you’re going to appreciate it as a tool. It’s not just a device — it’s a way of connecting with the people around you. This can be a great thing if we use it like this. It can also work the other way around though if we use it to connect to people more, but just not as a phone. There are so many other cool things you can do with a phone these days. Some of them are free and some of them are paid — let’s take a look at some of the ways this device can help you. Use it as a replacement for a calendar — you no longer have to keep track of every meeting or event you have. Instead, you can just see when it’s happening and add your own notes to the calendar. This can be helpful for planning your life or organizing your schedule. Use it to keep track of your expenses — like when you are going to eat, who sent you to the restaurant and what you ordered. Not sure if this is something you need to keep track of, but it can definitely be helpful to you in the long run. Have the phone store important information for you — like a list of medications you are taking or your insurance information. It can also be helpful to you if you have a medical emergency — you can get this information out of your phone as quickly as possible and give it to the doctors or ambulance crew.
Repeating Actions Can Have Negative Effects Too
Not all of the things we do on our phones are great. In fact, most of the time we are scrolling through social media or checking out pictures, videos, etc. while on our phones we are doing things that are not good for us. We are shopping too much, we are eating too much junk food, we are checking out all the wrong things on the internet and we are getting too much exposure to cyberbullying and all kinds of negativity on social media. Repeating these actions over and over again can have a negative effect on us. We are not social people anymore — people think of us as zombies that scroll through their phones all day. This can ruin our social life and can make us lose a lot of our friends because they just don’t want to be around someone who is zombie-like. We are eating too much junk food and we are not getting the right nutrients through our diet as a result. This can lead to serious health problems down the road and it can also make you fat — which is not good for you. We are too busy scrolling through social media and looking at pictures and videos that we aren’t doing anything productive. This can leave us feeling unfulfilled and unproductive. We need to spend time doing things that are genuinely useful for us — we don’t need to do things that are just entertaining and keeping us busy.
The whole concept of the Nothing Phone is great for a number of reasons, but it can be hard to make it work every single day and keep that “newness” going. There are bound to be days where you feel too busy or overwhelmed to use your phone in a new way — and that’s okay! It doesn’t mean you’re a less-in-love-with-your-phone-life. It’s okay to use your phone, but don’t let it take over your life.
